a month agoThe first time my husband came here the person who did his hair was amazing she understood what a high and tight fade was and did amazing!!!! The last time he went at 1:15 yesterday (Thursday) I thought that it was going to be just as good! I mean the guy took a freaking hour so you know good things take time and such well this morning we realized the guy gut a patch of hair out of his head7 months agoMy brother got his first hair cut here today, and it turned out great! With an appointment, waiting time was about 10-15 minutes, but it was quite busy in there. The cost was very low ($20 for kid’s haircut). The shop was very clean and the employees all looked very professional with positive attitudes.2 months agoShhh don’t tell anyone but occasionally it’s the woMEN’S Room. Jose did fantastic work creating the super short, shaved look I wanted. And I love the industrial, masculine vibe of the huge space. FYI they’re staying put at 1501 1st. St. SE.a week agoI moved to Cedar Rapids from Miami. I’m originally born and raised in Harlem NYC. I bring this up because I KNOW great barbershops and great barbers. I miss the big city feel and flex.I called here and TERREL picked up. He made an appointment with me and I went to see him. Maaaaannnn when I tell you TERREL hooked me up. From the head to the shave! Hot towel! Attention to detail! And expert treatment. Look… CR is not that big. Stop by this shop, if it’s busy, play a game of pool and relax, enjoy one of the movies playing on the big screens and realize that you found THE SHOP to be at. #NoRegrets #AskForTerrel
2 months agoI will likely continue going here as I have for the past few years. Lately my barber has been Brex and it’s obvious he knows what he is doing.He can either listen to what you want, or you can ask his opinion as I have. I’ve always loved my cut at the end of the short 30 minutes.
I will say though, make an appointment. They are usually quite busy and I’ve always seen the building nearly at capacity.

3 weeks agoMy 14 yr old son has never liked his haircuts. We decided to try this place and Leah gave him the best cut he has ever gotten! I wasn’t sure about the place because it seems like a adult men’s barber shop and I was concerned about some reviews saying the conversation was inappropriate for kids but I didn’t experience anything like that. They were respectful of the fact kids were there. Seriously best cut ever! Thank you Leah. She knows her craft.4 months agoI called in an appointment the day before, and when I came in they said that whoever scheduled it didn’t get it down, but that didn’t stop them from getting me into a chair right away. The vibes in this place are awesome. Everyone getting along with one another. Friendly Customer Service. Leah who did my hair and beard, did an amazing job! She asked me what I wanted and even I wasn’t so sure, but after giving her just a few suggestions she went to work and created a fresh look that I couldn’t help but to grin when I saw how good it was! Pat is always waiting and on time as well as being very down-to-business. I’ve gotten 4 haircuts from Pat and 3 out of the 4 were good. This week, I asked for the same as last time and about half an inch off the sides. He took about 2 inches. I don’t like a fade but I got one. I’ve fixed it by wearing a stocking cap. It looks cool with the cap. I might go back, but I might not.3 months agoLet’s start by saying that my bf is finicky about his hair. He wants what he wants, and apparently it is hard to do a good dude-cut. Or was until he went and saw Leah. She actually listened to what he wanted, a low skin-fade, leave the top alone. He was very happy with his cut and said when we go back to Iowa he will have her cut it again! I wish she was down here where we live in Florida, but she’s worth visiting when we venture up to Iowa to see family.

To be fair, I’ve never had an experience that was unpleasant with one of the other employees either. Never walk out if you’re unhappy with your haircut they will always fix it to the way you please!Kyah is always a great conversation, after your first 2 or 3 times you don’t even have to tell her what you want, she just knows. She rocks!! Will never go anywhere else.
