in the last weekThis was my first experience at an urgent care facility where I have felt this level of care. They were courteous and understanding from the time I checked in. I did not have an appointment, but was treated with the upmost care. I have been telling everyone about my experience at CityHealth. This location has it all down, friendliness, professionalism, knowledgeable, patient, etc (which I cannot necessarily say about their newer location on Montclair).a month agoI’ve been to the urgent care twice recently. The first time was for my 8-year-old son. It was a Sunday, and he had a high fever and vomited on the way there. We were seeking medical advice about his suitability for travel. The advice we received was inconclusive, and we were told to MUST take him to the ER. Only a Covid test was performed, which turned out negative. Fortunately, he recovered within 2 days.The second incident involved me a week later, on a Saturday, when my regular doctors were unavailable. I had persistent stiff neck and painful headaches. We suspected a secondary infection, possibly a Peritonsillar abscess. I was hoping for an antibiotics prescription, but they were unable to provide one. Instead, they advised me MUST to go to the ER ASAP for further CT scans and diagnosis. Upon my 3 hours ER visit, by the time it’s my turn, they found scans unnecessary, diagnosed a clear infection, and prescribed antibiotics. They questioned the urgent care’s decision to send me there.
Could the urgent care facility possibly assume responsibility for as much as they can? Instead of keep sending everyone to ER?
a month agoGreat service. Nice staff. HOWEVER, they prescribed me a cream that had lidocaine in it and my insurance needed a prior authorization. After going back and forth with the pharmacy and CityHealth for 3 days (5 days in total because of the weekend) I was told that CityHealth does not do prior authorizations and that I would need to go to my PCP. So what was the point of me going to urgent care?in the last weekUpdate: seems it seems like someone’s actually reading these. Someone from the hospital reached out an hour after I posted this review and explained that the appointment was cancelled by mistake and that I was still on for my original time. I’ll have to update the review again after my appointment this evening.I scheduled an appointment for the urgent care because of a bad ankle I wanted to get looked at. I scheduled an appointment 2 days in advance and the day of, they cancelled my appointment. I didn’t get a call or even an email. Just an automated Google Calendar cancellation. This “healthcare”company does not care.

a month agoI made an appointment 3 months in advance, when I got there the doctor I had the appointment with wasn’t there. I couldn’t see another doctor. They made me an appointment for a month later. When I got there, the doctor was leaving. Luckily she agreed to stay late for my appointment. It seems the office has no idea how to schedule appointments or communicate. When I finally got to see the doctor, I liked her.a month agoFor all Pre-Employment / drug screens, be prepared for a 4 hour wait.. there is no staff, and half of the employees dont know what they are doing. And make sure they take your specimens before 2pm or else you go back the next day. 0 stars.. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else..Edit to Review after 3 weeks:
After 3 weeks of waiting, this facility ended up throwing my samples having no analysis done at all. Pure waste of time. HR requested to push back my start date and needed me to retake everything.
Total time wasted I this place: 14 hours (2 days). Net results: Samples were cancelled.
Lesson learned: Never book with Concentra.
2 months agoI had a great experience at the Concentra in the San Leandro . Everyone was very pleasant and very helpful. I have dealt with Concentra in the past in San Jose and it was a horrific experience compared to the one in Hayward. Keep up the hard work it really makes people feel appreciated and taken care of.Thank you.a month agoGreat staff, just be prepared for a long wait. I had a physical and drug screening and it was about 5 hours. Make an appointment for sure.4 months agoQuick and efficient. I was in and out within 30 minutes. The check in was quick and the tester that took me back to give my sample was very pleasant and welcoming. Overall a good experience.

in the last weekThe office was clean, spacious and very welcoming. It was a very pleasant experience once seen by the physicians assistant, making the process of getting a physical very easy and time efficient.in the last week– Arrived at 8 am but was seen at almost 11 am. – Was poked 3x; unsuccessfully drew blood; left a bulge and bruise on my left arm – Was told that they could not draw blood because I did not drink water (fluid) prior to going there – Was referred to Quest at San Leandro where staff were compassionate and successfully drew blood with ease (1 poke) after about an hour coming from Concentra (even without taking any fluid) – Anecdotal report from Quest: there were so many referred cases like me from Concentra San Leandro to Quest. Same case – bruised, poked more than once!a month agoDr Ogbu is such an amazing healthcare provider. The Medical assistants and staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful and I had just a wonderful experience for my scheduled appointment, which was a comprehensive physical. Every question that I had was answered, I didn’t feel rushed, the service was great and I’m proud to be a patient here.3 months agoThis clinic specializes in workers compensation cases. I initially attempted to walk in at 8am one day for a simple test and physical required by my employer but was told that the wait was already 2-3 hours. This is a refrain that I heard the front desk staff say to countless people. Ok, fine. So, I made an appt for the very earliest time they had a week later, no big deal.I return a week later, I’m first in line, sign in, submit my paperwork, and wait until 8:25 for them to call me back. With an 8am, first appt of the day time, this is unacceptable. In addition they mixed up my name with someone else. The desk staff and providers were unfriendly and robotic, and I will not be returning to this location for any reason.
2 months agoI made an appointment for 9am about 2 weeks earlier. I arrived on time. I waited and waited. They called me to get vitals and get put into an exam room at 1130am. When I told the doc I had been waiting 2.5 hours so what was the point in making an appointment, he said he didn’t know they made appointments there. He explained that the admin process and the number of people who I need to go through to get to be seen is the reason it takes so long. They also went through a long health history verbally instead of letting me complete it on paper or in an app. The young women writing down my medications acted as though they had never heard them before and asked if I was saying it correctly. I saw on the final paperwork that they spelled each one terribly incorrect. I finally got out of there just after 1230pm and had tons of work to catch up on later. And no one there seemed to care that my visit took 3.5 hours. Like, it’s THEIR normal that I need to be ok with. I will avoid Concentra at all costs in the future.
