a week agoFive Star Barbershop has been my go to barbershop for over 10 years now. All the barbers in the shop are top notch and professional. I highly recommend checking them out.a month agoOne of the best and family friendliest barber shops around. I received a warm and supportive response and were able to easily get a walk-in appt and a wonderful cut today. The store owner Elli was very gracious and helpful in telling me about the shop. I will definitely use this shop especially a quick cut before flying off to the airport!3 months agoIt’s in the name, 5 Stars! New to AZ from Denver where I had the same barber for 10 years. Every time I try someone or somewhere new I leave completely disappointed and dissatisfied. I walked in here for a quick cut before work and was in and out less than 30 minutes with a clean fade! a month agoI had a bit of a wait past my scheduled appointment, but it wasn’t a big deal and I appreciated the fact that Troy took his time to ensure his previous client’s cut was what they wanted. That said, I normally get fades but recently spent a few months growing my hair out and came in to have it trimmed and cleaned up at V’s based on the string of recent good reviews I’d found online. Troy took a look at what I wanted, asked me some questions, and then did his thing while checking in with me throughout the process. The end result was what I wanted and I’ll definitely book with him again in the future. Thank you!11 months agoTroy was awesome, young cat with a passion!! My mom is a barber and has been cutting my hair for 35 years. I was nervous but he killed it. He straight razors your neck line and sideburns, clippers the inside and outside of the ears and wipe you down with a hot towel with aftershave and gives you a shoulder message! I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing my son…. Your own mama doesn’t treat you this good.3 months agoGot a cut and shave from Abe. He did a great job and gave me a solid cut. a week agoAli Z was amazing to work with. He listened to what I wanted and made it happen like magic. I am currently in Atlanta GA. I was in Chandler AZ for work. I enjoyed the experience so much I am planning on being in the area again in a few weeks and will definitely be going back.3 months agoI love Hanna L! I used to see her at the other Chandler location but found out she is only working at this location now and I purposely came to her because no one else has ever cut my hair so perfectly before. I will continue to come to Floyd’s for as long as Hanna works there! I’ve already referred SO many people to her! She’s great!! I love the vibe and the music they play in the shop. Extremely affordable in my opinion!2 months agoNot going here again. I’ve had my hair cut here 10-15 times over the last few years. Initially it was a very good experience and I made them my go-to place to clean me up. I have to wear a suit to work and this place used to be an easy place to come for a solid haircut that left me looking presentable.On my last visit I made an appointment online. Right before the appointment I got a call saying that they needed to postpone my appointment 40 minutes. It was inconvenient but honestly not that big of a deal. When I sat down in the chair, she approached my haircut with the attitude of wanting to set a world record for hair cut speed. While getting my hair cut, I asked if she could touch up my beard. Keep in mind, I don’t have much of a beard. I need about 2 minutes of work on it. Really just lining up my jaw line, which I am not good at doing myself. Considering that my haircut took literally 12 minutes, I didn’t think it would be an issue. And in my entire adult life I’ve never had an issue with this request. She said that was absolutely not an option, because I didn’t specifically book a beard trim online. But I could always come back for a beard trim! I work a zillion hours a week, I’m not going back for what should have taken 2 minutes and been an easy up-charge for her and the store.
Obviously, this is not her fault. As happens to so many good companies, a dolt of a manager usually comes in and implements ludicrous, counterintuitive policies that cost them business.
I’ve written about 3 reviews in my entire life. This isn’t anywhere near the top of important business transactions in my life. It’s a hair cut; if it isn’t horrible, I’m generally ambivalent at best. But this pissed me off enough that I’ll never be back. She told me that she had 5 people waiting. They must have booked online, because they weren’t in the store. And if so, they are understaffed and overbooked.
It takes an awful lot for something as simple as a haircut to bother me, so take that into account when I say that I will never get another haircut at Floyd’s.
in the last weekI had Lilah for my first ever visit and she was awesome. Gave me a perfect mohawk and I couldn’t be happier. Plus the first-time-customer wash being free was really nice. Already made another appointment for a color treatmentedit: had to take away a couple stars bc communication around the color treatment was not good. they waited until I showed up to the appointment to ask me what I wanted just to tell me they couldn’t do any vivid colors. that should have been discussed as soon as I made the appointment. can’t complain about the cut itself though.
a month agoThe pomade I got from Floyd’s has been working wonders styling my hair. Whenever I leave I always feel fresh and clean lol. All the staff are super cool and friendly and I’ve had some of the most interesting conversations with a few of them 🙂
