  1. First off, the food here is FANTASTIC.
Probably the best piece of halibut that I’ve had in years. The side dishes were excellent too. It is what I would consider a “fair “value for the money. Excellent food at a slightly higher than average price – which I am more than willing to pay.

You may ask yourself, then, why would I only rate at three stars?

It’s because of the service. The restaurant was crowded so I ate at the bar. The bartender ignored me for over 10 minutes. It took forever to get a menu. It took forever to get a glass of water. It took forever for her to come over and take my order. It took forever for her to put my order in and, conversely, forever for me to get my food. Almost 20 minutes for my salad to arrive.
Then, the people next to me had their food come out with their oysters. The server wanted to take the food back and told them they would “re-fire“ it before they brought it back out. I happen to over here and help them out by offering to take one of their halibut dishes, as that was what I had ordered.
I am giving this review while waiting for my check, which I asked for 15 minutes ago. The people next to me, who are being served by the OTHER bartender, have received their check, paid their bill, had the rest of their bottle of wine, and are on their way out the door.
I understand that people get busy, but what frustrates me is watching people around me get good service while being ignored…

  2. The clam chowder was rather disappointing as it was really watery, not thick. Ling said it might be a taste preference but I don’t think it’s worth getting it considering the price.

First time eating at the Water Grill with my girlfriend Ling. We had a good time, the atmosphere is busy and so understandably the service was rather slow on a Saturday evening.

Ling loved the sushi we got and said it was very authentic and comparable to Japanese restaurants.

With the right dishes, Water Grill is a great place to eat at.

  3. Staffs are friendly and very professional and that’s what it counts before food.

I asked suggestions for wine and main dish; Oregon white wine that the manager recommended was outstanding and perfect pairing, our server advised me to try spiny lobster(Australia) which was on season, super fresh and meatier made my dinner wonderful!

Iced shellfish platter was good too, super fresh and snails are included! I unfortunately have to take one star out for slow service. But everything was great and beyond.

  4. Amazing seafood spot! Tried a bunch of cocktails, my favourite was the cucumber margarita (margarita verde). To begin with they serve you this very soft bread with a sea salt butter, which was very tasty! We got it thrice, lol. For appetizers, we got the chilled tower for 2, which I think is great as it comes with a good variety of seafood, including lobster, prawns, oysters, mussels, and snails. For mains, I really liked the whole sea bass- very flavourful. My wife is vegetarian, they were able to make a vegetarian pasta!

Our sever, Chris, was a very friendly guy and amazing at giving us recommendations.

    Would definitely go back!

  5. Wonderful seafood dining experience. I had an excellent and flavorful cioppino followed by delicious caramel bread pudding! The staff were attentive, the atmosphere was vibrant with locals and travelers as patrons. For the family or a business lunch or a date this place is ideal.

Time flies… my last and only time dining with them was probably back in 2011.

Oysters fresh as usual; the scallop was so sweet. Bouillabaisse made with quality ingredients and very tasty.

It’s rare that after 10 years their food still impress me the same way as my first visit.

Came by to try the lobster roll, and had the opportunity to try both the hot and cold lobster rolls. Definitely enjoyed the cold one more. French fries are super crisp. Cocktails are delicious. Also, I tried the red snapper appetizer, it was very well balanced with the sauce. Overall, would recommend and would try again.

What a great spot to grab a bite, a beer and chill. The lobster roll was great and the steamer was really exceptional. The service was on point and their alcohol selection was perfect on a hot day on the beach.

Went there during happy hour (2-6pm or something), oysters were 18$ for 6 pcs and they were delicious! Also loved their clam chowder and old bay seasoned fries🥰 cocktail shrimp was a bit too pricey, otherwise super fresh and tasty as well.

Our experience at the Blue Plate Oysterette was good. The seafood is amazing, fresh, and flavorful. The service could have been a little better, particularly the seating. The server seemed to pay attention to one table, spending a lot of time talking away. However, overall the restaurant is a good one.

Eating lobster and beer needs to be the new food combo that everyone craves. It just works and everyone needs to try this at least once in their lives. My girlfriend and I got the Maine Lobster roll, fries, and the clam chowder (cup). Though not the best I’ve tried, all of them were solid and I would happily eat more if I could. They also have a huge amount of beer and alcohol selections to choose from.

I’m not sure if the structure parking is free, but I was able to find ample street parking for free.

Overall, Lobster & Beer is a great joint with a friendly environment and I would easily come back if I’m ever in the area again.

This is my favorite place – my boyfriend and I love coming here! Great food, drinks, and vibes. Incredible beer selection. I have tried almost everything on the menu and nothing has disappointed so far. Our favorites are the lobster tacos, quesadilla, lobster roll, and lobster tail to name a few.

The employees are also super friendly and knowledgeable.

One of those “neighborhood discoveries” that looks like a tiny patio right on Motor Avenue (easy street parking). Inside is a buzzing, darkish, rustic tavern with a throw-back, friendly bar staff. I notice that the owner also answers all notices on social media. Matron foodie friends rave about this place and it seems to draw a diverse crowd. There was a steady flow of customers picking up orders the entire time I was there to order and pick-up well before dinner hour. The lobster roll and crab roll are very good, stuffed inside toasted authentic sandwich roll bread, that is not easy to get on the west coast. A good place with an easy ambiance to meet up with people if you would not rather eat seafood out on the water.

Busy place with great food. I love how the game is always on. Happy hour has amazing deals and there are fun deals for taco Tuesday. The lobster Mac was burnt and crusty but the lobster rolls and old bay cheese fries are phenomenal.

Service is great. Cajun shrimp roll and lobster grilled cheese and mango habanero wings are great.

Would pass on the lobster tacos.

A little bit overpriced given the portions.

No liquor, beer and wine cocktails only.

Amazing 🤩,my husband and I were going to another restaurant saw the parking valet and asked if we can park he said yes it’s $8.00 I asked if it’s only for Messhall Kicthen? He asked were we were going I mentioned Stamp Proper Foods. He said oh no enjoy this place better! We have it a try and we are glad we did! Amazing ambience, we got seated fast they have outside and inside seating. The food was delicious as well as the drinks. Give it a try and ask for any type of alcohol beverage they have a variety of choices.

    This place is a gem!

Only down side-No street parking, only valet costing $8.

We sat at the bar- The bartender *Louis* impressed us with his cocktail skills and his positive energy. He was very attentive and provided excellent customer service.

    Highly recommend:

SLOW COOKED POT ROAST: exceeded my expectations! I will come back for this dish. The horseradish cream is brilliant.

KALE CAESER SALAD: generous portion & flavorful.

Went for brunch. The ambience and the staff are great. The crab cake hash and loz feliz Benny are great as well. The smothered biscuits with fried chicken was tasty and has a smoky taste. It was a little too spicy for my friend (pro tip: ask them to hold the hot sauce if you can’t handle the heat). The pancakes are beautiful but taste wise I would pass.

Came with my daughter and mama, and let me tell you….they did not disappoint. Wonderful service, great tasting food! My Kom loved the half dozen oysters so much, we ordered a second round. Fantastic wine selection! Their Farro Risotto was delicious and their Spicy Quinoa hit the spot. Their salmon was made to perfection. My daughter loved the kids choices so yes, very kid friendly. Definitely coming back again

Came here for a group brunch. Service was excellent for accommodating a large party. The fried chicken sandwich was good but needed some more flavor maybe seasoned the breading. However the chicken was moist and crispy.

Good food, the raw oysters were fresh, fried oysters delicious.

The pumpkin old fashioned was excellent, probably the tastiest drink I’ve had out all year. We’ll definitely be revisiting!

The music was a bit loud for lunch, but it got turned down without us asking.

It’s in the fashion district in downtown LA. Kind of quiet place in the middle of busy downtown LA. Lunches are normally very busy. Evening are quiet and romantic.

Food was good. The hamburger was the best, lobster fries was good too, soft shell crab sandwich was ok.

Oysters were a little disappointed. The best oyster in my opinion should have THREE important check points: FRESH, Clean(no broken shells), and JUICY (original juicy in the shell at presentation).
The oysters here are fresh and juicy, but 2/3 of them has broken shells.

I am glad that they are still doing well and even expanded the menu during Covid. I can tell from the menu, they have more fresh goodies to enjoy!

We had two rounds of oysters (omg so fresh so good), raw bay scallops (surprisingly good), raw clams (bit fishy), hamachi was to die for, and lobster poutine. We enjoyed most of the raw dishes that day! Everything was fresh except for the clams which I found them quite fishy, the rest of the dishes hit the spot. Also, we opted for a Kimchi biscuit plate (came with 2 biscuits, kimchi butter, and honey) and a chicken waffle. The biscuits were surprisingly good (soft and warm) even though we couldn’t taste any kimchi flavor in the butter. As for the chicken & waffles, this is the second time I had it here. Unfortunately not my fave! Just a bit too dry in general. Cocktails were mostly good, fly me away was my favorite. (It tastes a bit like a New York sour, so delicious)

All in all, good atmosphere + tasty seafood! Here are my top choices: 1. “West coast oysters”, slightly better than East coast selections. 2. “Raw bay scallops” and 3. “hamachi” were so tasty. Cocktails were on point too. Cheers!

This place was on our list to try for a long time. Both Oysters and service is great. We’ll be back to taste the rest of the menu. I highly recommend who loves seafood.

It was good! We got their medium seafood tower which was tasty, fried octopus (so good), and the oyster chowder.
I was a little disappointed in the oyster chowder, but the fried octopus was very surprising.
We sat outside so I got ravaged by mosquitos so be careful if you’re outdoors.
