  1. First time there. I will be back. Atmosphere was great. Good even better. We had a large party. Took a little bit longer to get everyone meals. That’s ok because food was good. Park in front of restaurant. Cost 10$. Not bad !

  2. The service was great, especially because we came close to closing time (arrived at 830p, doors locked at 930p) with a party of 8.

The food was overall fantastic. My grits were a bit dryer than I imagined, for my shrimp and grits dinner but the kick of the sauce was nice 👌🏾. My Husband’s Lamb chops were cooked perfectly.

We WILL be returning for a family gathering when possible!

  3. 1st time being in The Motor City and Fishbone’s is a MUST STOP! I had the Chef’s Chowder and when I tell you it was just the right amount of flavor…yum! I also ordered the Chicken Pasta and I was stuffed.
Our waiter Kiara was new and very helpful and mindful to our table. Great experience

  4. This is my first time visiting Fishbone’s, and I can see why it is a classic Detroit institution. Unfortunately, most of it was closed because of COVID. It would have been so fun to be able to sit in the center area with the waterfall coming down. The wait staff were very nice and accommodating, however. We ordered the classic saginaki and they promptly lit it on fire. It was tasty because it’s basically melted cheese. I would stick to the soul food on the menu. I tried a sushi roll just to try it, but they should really stick to one type of cuisine.

  5. Excellent restaurant near Downtown Michigan to dine in. it’s close to the river front. Friendly servers and excellent ambience for family dinner/ gatherings. They provide complimentary bread prior to your orders. We ordered the Shrimp Jambalaya & Shrimp Sandwich. It was delicious & we’ll surely visit again. Must try place🤌🏽

This place is amazing. Besides the captivating views, the service and staff are absolutely amazing. The food was incredible and perfectly prepared. My daughter had a great time and so did I. We will definitely be returning. Thanks!

We fished the river and caught some walleye. We were able to moor the boat, clean the fish, and bring them in to be cooked. Sinbad’s prepared the fish three different ways: pan fried, deep fried, and blackened. It was all very good with the blackened being my favorite. The meal also came with cole slaw and fries. Great food and great service!

I had a perfect experience there in the clam chowder was worth just going back and just only getting one bowl of that by itself whoever makes the clam chowder there has the flick of the wrist yummy hats off to the clam chowder maker everything else was pretty good but the clam chowder stole the show…

I really wanted to like this place. We were excited to finally go dine and the experience was lack luster. Everyone was really nice they have a great staff overall. First issue was when the bread was brought to our table, the butter packets that were already on the table, about three of them were used and put back meaning no one checked to make sure. The sesame chicken tenders sauce did not taste well and the chicken tenders taste as if it was cooked in the same oil as the fish. My ribeye steak was overcooked and dry. It was a busy time so I’ll give them grace but we won’t be returning and was disappointed because we’ve heard nothing but good things. Maybe it was just a bad busy Saturday evening.

It is not easy to give Joe Muer Seafood a 3-star. The food was better than most seafood restaurants in US but it is an upscale fancy place with dress codes for Everyone so I had to raise the bar. The raw bar was closed during lunch. They were out of few other fishes which is understandable during the pandemic. The beets salad had fresh arugula and beets but the beets were cut into quarters which is little hard to eat without cutting. The perch was fresh but the it was sauté little too much so it was dry. The mashed potato was so so. The Australian sea bass was good. Now, the signature dessert, Coconut cake, was very much like a cheesecake. I found out later that they had a dessert display cart that had several delicious looking desserts which was never shown to us. A 20% gratitude was automatically added to our bill for 2 people. I would have left more tips besides the 20% if the service was better. The main dining room has very nice view of Canada and the lake if you are not wearing any sportswear.

While in Detroit, we were looking for places with happy hours, and came across Joe Muer Seafood, conveniently located inside our hotel, the Renaissance Centre.

We had an absolutely fabulous experience here. While the regular menu is a bit pricey (though good quality), the happy hour is a great, affordable way to experience the restaurant and amazing views. The snacks and drinks on the special happy hour menu were inventive and delicious – we tried every one and shared them between our group of five.

Our favourite snacks were the fries and the calamari – definitely some of the best calamari I’ve ever had. It was crispy and perfectly seasoned, with a delicious dipping sauce. Our group also tried different local beers and some cocktails – my favourite was the lemon drop.

We loved the experience so much that we came back almost every day while we were in the city. The views, food and service were second to none.

Since the happy hour is quite popular, it can be a bit tight at the bar, however there are two sides that you can choose to sit at.

The restaurant does also have a strict dress code in place – one member of the group had to change out of her yoga pants before being allowed to enter. We were ok with this, as it does help to maintain a great experience and upscale ambiance.

This is a must-try staple when in Detroit.

I was so lucky enough to be taken here for my birthday 🎉 celebration by my lovely girlfriend and this was my second the time going to a upscale restaurant.

View of the water was surreal it being frozen and the background of Canada was beautiful. Our seating was near of window. The drinks were good though I’m not a drinker (do with that information as you will).

I was talked into the Twin Lobster Tail against the Whole Lobster because the ones that was on hand was rather small so shout out to our waiter.

    The food was amazing 🤩

This was one of the best meals and dinner experiences of my life! Every detail was perfect, the views were awesome and the food was better than I could have imagined! They also went above and beyond to make my friends birthday extra special. The cocktails were out of this world and we will definitely be back to celebrate more special occasions in our lives

From the moment we walked in, the service was five star. Everyone at the restaurant is bought in to the culture of an incredible customer experience. The food was all I could ask for. We had the local walleye and the sea bass. Oysters as appetizers and the beet salad. I am still raving about the food. And the coconut creme cake to finish it off was incredibly perfect. We ate in the evening and the view of Canada across the water was impeccable. When I am in Detroit again, I absolutely plan on an encore, as there was so much more I wanted to try.

my husband took us here for our second wedding anniversary. to say we were impressed would be an understatement. the food was amazing. our drinks were so good. they brought us out every dessert for a surprise! we had a lot of fun talking to the bartender upstairs at the ghost bar and to top it all off the ghost tour after was so much fun! the mansion is stunning and i hope we come back every year and make it a tradition

Where to begin with this place?! The service was absolutely amazing. Our waiter was funny, informative and just genuinely enjoyed his job. The bartender in the ghost bar was the same way! So polite, quick with our orders and had so much to say about the place. The aesthetic is elegant but welcoming. And the FOOD! Oh the food was excellent. The pecan crusted walleye was some of the best damn walleye I’ve ever had. The half chicken was flavorful, juicy and big enough to feed me for 2 days! The veggies that came with it were done perfectly. The carrots were naturally sweet and the asparagus had the perfect amount of crunch to them. Truly cannot wait to go back!

Oh wow what an amazing experience! Our waiter was so attentive and knowledgeable! Had the beef Wellington and it was incredible! All four courses were delicious! Highly recommend this lovely mansion! Also did the tour after dinner…so interesting!!

Definitely a spectacular place! This is a place for fine dining, so take your time, have a glass of wine, and enjoy the atmosphere/scenery. A beautiful old mansion converted into a Detroit icon. Excellent restaurant for an evening of delectable dishes and some history. Valet parking and mansion tours available as well.

I was born and raised in metro Detroit but had never dined at the Whitney. This changed this week for my 41st birthday celebration we decided to do the $40 off your meal the Thursday before. I was so concerned it would be a let down, but I can happily report it was not.

Our waitress, Anne, was amazing. I had planned on doing the Wellington, but had some reservations. She asked me questions about what I look for in a steak and recommended the filet instead. She was 100% correct. It was so good I didn’t really need the steak knife. The appetizers were on point. I added a lobster tail and since visiting Maine in 2004 lobster has never been the same. This was the closest to Maine lobster I’ve had in nearly 20 years. My husband commented how did they get it so velvety?

After dinner Anne personally toured us through the mansion. She gave a great tour and showed us so many little nuisances of the mansion.

This was my first time at the Whitney, but it will not be my last! You will pay for the experience, but it really was worth it.

Grey Ghost has a great ambiance. I came on a week night and it was packed. There was a bit of a wait but I was able to get seating at the bar. The food was fresh, service was friendly and fast. The staff here are really attentive. The bartender was great. The hosts in the front were really kind and energetic. The food was really tasty and fresh. The portions were a bit small for the price. For the carrot salad, scallops, and fries I paid close to $100 after tip which seemed high albeit the food was great quality. I would definitely recommend checking it out. There seemed to be a lot of regulars at this spot.

Met a few buddies for dinner here to catch up who I haven’t seen in years. The server was great and had some excellent cocktail recommendations that everyone enjoyed. We split some appetizers, but the fried bologna was by far the best. I ended up ordering the Lamb chops since I haven’t had those in years, and they were amazing. Looking forward to my next visit.

Loved this place! The ambiance was beautiful. Food was great, our favorite being the cauliflower app. I loved the drink menu, which cocktails were sorted by shaken vs stirred. We also ordered the fried bologna, duck, and steak, all of which were good.

Cool, upbeat atmosphere in a nice but unpretentious space. Shared a couple of appetizers and entrees with my wife on a visit here. They seem to be known for their cocktails which looked good but unfortunately we didn’t have any.

The Brussels sprouts were incredible and I’d highly recommend them. The fries on the other hand, not so much; they were extremely salty and somewhat burned. Not up to expectations for a restaurant like this. The aioli that they came with was quite good though rather “dill forward” as a heads up. Entrees were quite good though a little pricey in my opinion. Food took a while to come out.

All in all it was a little pricey for the experience/quality though I can see why some people have this as a must visit restaurant in Detroit!

Delicious food, amazing staff, and great atmosphere. My husband and I are convinced their brussel sprouts are the best in Detroit! The service was attentive and knew what we needed before we asked. My husband loved their steak tartar (I’m not a fan. It had great flavor, but I’m just not into tartar period). The decor is beautiful, and they have a little garden room with lanterns that would be lovely for a small party. We will be back for sure!
