  Mahoney’s offers an incredibly large selection of plants and garden supplies. If you’re looking for something unusual they will probably have it. Just be aware that they are not priced like Home Depot or Lowe’s. They offer high quality plants but are also very expensive.

  I worked with Rachel Abbott for my daughter’s wedding flowers. She was amazing to work with and the flowers were exceptional. I have always shopped at Mahoneys for my nursery needs but did not realize they did wedding flowers. People were stopping us to take pictures of the flowers. Cost was very reasonable. Would highly recommend using them for any floral decor.

  Keep an eye on the plants you pick from the mini plants section. I realised the 2inch Maiden hair vine plant I picked up was infested with aphids. Examine well before you pick up anything. I was too excited to find a wish list plant of mine and didn’t do my checks. Spent the last couple of hours washing if off with water. Let’s hope the aphids don’t come back or get on my other plants. The other kalanchoe I picked up is healthy. Edit- I noticed webbing on my maiden hair vine today and it’s spidermites. Try not to buy anything from this store unless you want an infestation. Contemplating tossing the plant out.

  As I was leaving after purchasing a curly spider plant …an employee approached me and said my plant would get wind burned on my moped going home. She offered no suggestions or offered no remedy…only to say I’d never get my purchase home safely without causing wind burn on my curly green lady plant. Talk to me like she knew where I was going and I never met the woman in my life…. I told her I appreciated the warning she had and then I told her she didn’t know where I lived and my plant would be just fine… Snooty snoop snoop just put her nose to the wind and turned around scoffing at me. I went back inside and asked for the manager and the same lady who told me I was going to cause my purchased plant ” wind burn” and then told me I was a man and I knew everything….said she was the manager? I was so stricken and offended by her accusations and feminist insinuations on me not listening to her and then saying I’m done with you/done talking to you, I left…I just left. After getting home I realized I should have just ignored her. I am not impressed with Kanes…or the unruly Grey haired MrsFit out front with issues over men. Another reviewer said this..” One of their employees gave me the rudest attitude I have dealt with in years. I got there five minutes before the store closed. As I entered the store an older cashier with grey hair approximately mid to late 60’s yelled at me, in front of multiple customers, the store is closing in five minutes. I was caught a bit off guard. I said I only needed one item (and knew exactly where it was located) and explained I will be one minute. She looked at me in total disgust as she shook her head. I told her that she was rude with poor customer service. I will NEVER step inside that store again. For the last ten years I purchased all off my vegetables and supplies for my garden and it was a tradition with my son. Not anymore. I’m taking my business elsewhere!!!” Same lady that I encountered!!

  9/2020: This garden center has a sizable indoor and outdoor selection for this time of year. Outside, there were pumpkins, gourds, hardy mums etc. and indoors a good selection of houseplants and cacti. Reasonable prices. Plus plus for multiple cats sleeping throughout the store! ?lost a star for not labeling plant names/ care instructions on multiple indoor plants.

  I have so many plants growing like crazy in my sunny wall of windows here @ 14 North. My friend ran into Kane’s earlier last week & I knew I should stay in the car & I did. Later that week I ran in because I have been looking for a Swedish Ivy plant. I had them in my bedroom when I was a teen. First time in Kane’s and I was in Heaven! I found the most beautiful, healthy & full Swedish Ivy hanging plant & I was shocked it was only $9.99! I bought it, already have cuttings started and I can’t wait to go back because I want to recreate a terrarium I also had in my bedroom growing up & Kane’s has the best tiny plants that would be perfect for that! Love Kane’s!!!

  Out of all the place I go to get my gardening needs Christmas toys and great customer service was always smiling employees. They always have the top-of-the-line equipment and great knowledge, I’m going back for my Japanese maple tree.   I have been coming to this plant store since I moved to Boston 10 years ago. The staff is always super knowledgeable and they have the nicest selection of pottery for plants I have ever seen. I was surprised when I went to the other location in Winchester how drastically different the selection of plant pots are. I love buying my plants here and recommend it to anyone whether you are a newbie or experienced.

  Huge variety of indoor and outdoor plants! They have an always-changing selection. I find myself just stopping by from time to time to see what is new. Plants are a little on the expensive side but are usually in very healthy condition and, again, the variety is excellent.

  What an extraordinary shop! I had a truly spiritual adventure for 1 hour here and of course I did not leave the store without 2 gorgeous plants that will complete my apartment harmony !
