a week agoJie is a fantastic hairstylist and when I showed her a picture of what I wanted, she did it perfectly. The whole experience was awesome, she kept calling me a movie star which was gas. Definitely going back, whoever hates on sports clips just hasn’t gone yet.3 weeks agoAvoid CLAUDIA at all costs. Twice I had online appointments scheduled with her and she completely ignored the booked appointments and took other clients who had just walked in. One time would be understandable, it’s an accident – but twice is an attitude, and a “stylist” at a basic salon like this really can’t afford attitude. Get rid of online appointment scheduling if your employees are unable to use it.3 months agoToday, Tuesday 6/6/23, I made a 1:15pm appointment for my 13 year old son. We arrived a few minutes early, around 1pm, checked in and sat down. When I checked in there was an a man trying to check in. He was about in his late 60’s early 70’s. I saw only one barber in the store cutting a man’s hair who was working at the first chair, behind the register. The older gentleman trying to check in was having some difficulty. I could not believe what happened next. The Barber approached the man and began to raise his voice at him and was overwhelmingly rude to him!!! All he needed was a little help. He shouted at him and was extremely annoyed by the customer for not knowing how to check in. He started to berate the customer, and was extremely disrespectful to him. During their altercation my son looked at me and said he did not want to get his haircut with this man. I then stood up and started to defend the older gentleman, and told the barber what a disgusting human being he was and that he should be ashamed of himself for talking to a customer like that, and that he needed to respect his elders. My son loves Sports Clips in South Pasadena. It’s supposed to be an environment in which you should feel safe, comfortable, and welcomed. A place where you are respectful and helpful to elders. I wish I would have gotten his name. I know that this one barber does not reflect the many hard working, pleasant, and nice hairstylist that provide excellent customer service. This man should not be working there. If there are surveillance cameras inside the store, I strongly urge management to review the tape from the date and time I said I was there. I went for my first visit to take advantage of the free haircut offered for Veteran’s Day!! I’m super bad with names but I believe the barber I had was Carlos!! Had a great football conversation and we talked a bit about my time in the military!! My haircut was really nothing to complain about! I am bald so nothing to it! But the experience was a very good one! The shampoo and massage chair were amazing!! Not sure how often I will be visiting since I dont have much hair but I’m sure I’ll go back!

2 months agoFirst time here and booked a line up on the website, which says it includes the neck line for total $20. Staff are very friendly. Barber starts doing the line up around back of neck and temples and whatnot. When she is almost done with that I ask if it includes the neck and beard, which is what I mainly came for, and she says yes. She then proceeds to work on shaping my beard and uses a straight razor. Everything seemed great. Again, first time here and she said this was included.When I go to check out the cashier says it’s $55. Total bait and switch. That’s more than I spend on a full haircut and this is just a lineup. She says they ended up doing a detailed beard service (did not ask for at all) and so that is $35 on top of the $20. They were nice though and said they would refund the beard service.
Anyway, my biggest gripe and reason for the low rating is the quality of the lineup. When we finished the cut, I noticed my right temple was shaped very pointy so I asked to round it out and showed her a photo from my last haircut. She fixes and yet it’s still very pointy. She tries one more time and, at a glance, it looked good.
However, once I got home, in reality I saw there is a now a chunk taken out of my right temple and it doesn’t match with the left side.
Even worse, around the ear is cut way too high and isn’t even round, and the line going to the back of neck is not straight.
Lastly as a side note, I was told since it was my first time I would receive a complimentary shampoo and massage—which I did not receive. Though I assume she just forgot by the end and since they were closing.
Anyway, friendly people but I don’t think I will be going back.
4 months agoVery nice, Classic-rock inspired decor and ambiance. I walked in (should have gotten an appointment, but it was my first time). They assigned me a girl with tattoos, glasses and black hair. I forgot to ask for her name, but she did a great job and I tipped her 25% in cash for the excellent haircut. The actual haircut was US$38.oo which is not bad. Will definitely be back (maybe after booking an appointment with any of the stylists beforehand, though).3 months agoI walked in needing a haircut and shave. The lady that cut my hair did a great job, but did not have time to do a shave. They worked together to get me taken care of. I’m jumped in the chair of the barber next to me, and he took care of the shave. Awesome service and very accommodating! Both barbers are great. Super easy to make appointments on their website and can also see each Stylists schedule for the week. Really enjoy coming to this Pasadena location as their is free parking behind the building and there’s a bunch of eating places nearby. Very friendly staff and consist service provided by my regular stylist.2 months agoI was 9 minutes late to an appointment and they cancelled me. They changed their appointment times to :20 minutes on the hour?Manager wasn’t friendly… saying it will effect all other appointments. My hair takes 10 minutes tops.Their parking lot is nuts and i was driving around for 10 minutes. They had me go to another barber but was not who i wanted. Going to the Burbank location from now on.
