I received a great smile when I walked in the door didn’t wait long for my haircut a young lady by the name of Brittany cut my hair very professionally, and then shampooed and massage my scalp and provided great customer skills at my visit. Thank you for your professionalism at this establishment Britney. I will definitely be back for my next haircut.

My boyfriend gets his hair and beard trimmed here and has since they opened this location. Never had any issues with any stylist. He went last month and waited for over 2 hours (which he expected) then the stylist (I won’t name her) proceeded to shave most of his beard off because she had the wrong guard on the clippers. He had told her to use a 3 and she did not. This was after the haircut that she gave him to which she did not oil the clippers and it was pulling his hair when she was using it. The manger tried to fix his beard but it was too late. It had to be evened out just to look right. We were given the owners name and number to reach out. We have called and left several messages and no one will return our calls. I have left messages for the store manger as well and she isn’t calling me back either. I understand that people can have off days. But come on, she’s cut and trimmed him before. She tried to get him to thin it out and he said no, so the fact that it still happened was not just an “off day” she was having.

Pretty good. Not my favorite location. No sound on the games because one of the stylists likes to stream music to her Bluetooth speaker instead.

Horrible service. Asked for hair to be cut short on the side and use scissors on top girl buzzed the top and shaved the sides. Looks like my husband is bald. Will not recommend this place. Not happy with the service.

Son enjoyed having Kara cut his hair. He is not very talkative when it comes to explaining what he wants but she got it figured out! She also hooked him up by updating his information so when he comes in next time, she already knows how to cut it! Great place and excellent staff! 1st time taking my teen son there and will definitely be back!

Great barbershop, great environment. Found this place a month ago and made my appointment using “The Cut” app with Fresh. Have gotten two cuts from “Fresh” and get compliments right away.

It’s hard finding a great barber. This shop has a lot of talented individuals. I highly recommend you set an appointment ahead of time and you won’t be waiting. In and out in a reasonable amount of time for the fade I get.

Best Barber out here & customer service top tier. My first time doing any type of design on my hair & I let @KENJITHEBARBER freestyle on it ! He picked the perfect style for me and I’ll definitely be keeping my short cut for a long time now. Better book with him !

Booked the appointment online, Nene texted to confirm the day of the appointment, and my service (loc repair on 2 locs) took less than 15 min! Very reasonable pricing. Highly recommend for loc repair! Thanks again 🙂

Love the attention to detail everyone gave to everything they did. The guys got great cuts and one got box braids and loves them. One of our kids is interested in barbering and one of the barbers was really cool in explaining everything he was doing while giving our other boy a cut. He also spent time talking about how to get started in the business, and answered his questions etc. The world needs more awesome people like the ones who work here❤️

Overdue review but needs to be said.

Came here a few years ago on my way back from Geogia. I was looking to get a retwist before heading home in Portsmouth and figured I’d handle it while i was on this side. I booked a retwist online with one of the Locticians and confirmed that all was good before I got there. When I got there and confirmed my booking, the woman acted like I was inconvenient because apparently she had something to do and wanted to leave early. She took me anyway but got very loud and vocal about my locs not being pre washed and popped, which I have NEVER had a problem with prior to this spot.. She then tried to pawn me off on who I believe was her daughter and half washed my hair before complaining about having to do so in such an unprofessional manner that all eyes were on me. This spot was busy and I was mortified, sitting in a chair with half washed and roughly popped locs. I had never had that sort of reception before anywhere else and was too embarrassed to react. No one said anything in my defense. I looked around and couldn’t find one empathetic face amonst the staff. A loctician named Nita eventually stepped up and took over, giving me a very beautiful retwist but I never forgot the level of disrespect and humiliation I endured that day and don’t think I could ever go back.

We used to come here when Box and Wally were in the shop. They were always respectful and straight to the business. Me and my 3 sons came in on September 28 so that my boys could all get haircuts before we traveled to Italy. As soon as we entered the shop their was a barber talking to a client about his barber being late. As he continues to sit their using explicit language about this other barber, we sit and wait for the conversation to be over so I can get my children haircuts. They had 2 barbers a locticion and a stylist sitting in the back. One barber finished a fade and edge up before the other barber could finish my oldest son’s haircut. It was a lot of foul language and smack talking than it was cutting hair. If the rules say no foul language I expect it to be no foul language. The haircuts were okay.

They squeezed me in for braids and let me tell you… this was not your typical Virginia Barbor/salon. The workers were clean, on time, professional, AND LICENSED. So many horror stories with other shops overcharging for simple services, asking me to wash and blow out my own hair, showing up late, wishy washy with hours, heat damage, rude. Smdh. But you won’t experience that at NENE’s. This was my first time and I am definetly impressed with my experience. My braids came out neat and EXACTLY the size and HOW I ASKED. Will definitely be back. I understand why they stay so packed. ?

What to Consider When Visiting a Barbershop in Hampton VA

Mens Haircut in Hampton VA
Mens Haircut in Hampton VA

When going to a barbershop in the United States, there are several things to consider to ensure a positive experience and satisfactory haircut. Here are some important factors to keep in mind:

  • Research the barbershop: Before visiting a barbershop, it’s essential to do some research. Check online reviews and ratings to get an idea of the quality of service provided by the barber. Look for a barbershop with experienced barbers who specialize in the type of haircut or style you’re looking for.
  • Consider the location: Choose a barbershop that is conveniently located for you. Consider factors such as the distance from your home or workplace and the availability of parking.
  • Check for appointments and wait times: Some barbershops accept appointments while others operate on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have a busy schedule, it may be best to find a barbershop that allows for appointments to avoid long wait times.
  • Hygiene and cleanliness: It’s important to ensure that the barbershop maintains proper hygiene and cleanliness practices. Look for a clean and well-maintained environment, hygienic practices such as disinfecting tools between clients, and the use of disposable capes and towels.
  • Communication with the barber: Clearly communicate your desired haircut or style to the barber. This includes discussing the length, texture, and specific details you want. Be open to the professional advice of the barber, as they can provide suggestions based on your hair type and face shape to help achieve the desired outcome.
  • Cost and payment methods: Consider the cost of the services provided by the barbershop. Prices can vary depending on the complexity of the haircut, additional services offered, and the location of the barbershop. Additionally, check the accepted payment methods to ensure you have the necessary form of payment.
  • Tipping etiquette: It is customary to tip your barber in the United States. The typical range for tipping is 15% to 20% of the total cost. However, the amount can vary based on the quality of the service provided. Remember to bring some cash for this purpose.
  • Returning for future visits: If you are pleased with the service and the haircut, consider building a rapport with the barber by returning for future visits. Consistency in visits can help the barber understand your preferences better and provide consistent results.

By considering these factors, you can choose a barbershop that meets your needs and enjoy a positive and satisfactory experience every time you visit.

The Ultimate Guide to Men’s Haircut Prices in the U.S

When it comes to getting a haircut, many factors influence the price you’ll pay, especially in the United States. While the average cost of a men’s haircut hovers around $29, this number can fluctuate based on various considerations like your location, the expertise of the stylist, and the complexity of the haircut you desire. This comprehensive guide aims to break down these variables and offer tips on getting a quality haircut without breaking the bank.

One of the primary factors affecting the cost of a haircut is the location. Whether you live in an urban, suburban, or rural area can significantly impact the price you’ll pay at the salon or barbershop.

Average Cost of Men’s Haircuts by Location

Location Average Cost Range
Urban areas $30 – $40
Suburban areas $25 – $35
Rural areas $20 – $25

As evident from the table, haircuts in urban areas tend to be the most expensive, with prices potentially going even higher in high-end salons in major cities. In contrast, rural areas offer the most affordable options.

If you’re searching for affordability, chain salons and barbershops are good alternatives. Students can often take advantage of discounts to further minimize costs.
