a week agoBroad Street Barber is an amazing place managed with efficiency and friendliness. David is a skilled barber with a fine eye to detail and grooming to your specifications. I felt like a had walked into a genuine barbershop, not a cookie-cutter run business. Thank you, David and the team!2 months agoDavid is hands down the best barber that I have ever been to! No questions about it. I’ve been getting my haircut by him for over a year now. I get a temp fade on the sides and leave a short textured fringe on top. It’s an easy haircut to mess up. But, David takes his time to make sure it comes out perfect and we always have great conversations. I’m moving to Sumter, South Carolina for a while, but I can promise you that I will make the 1 hour and 45 minute drive once a month to see David. He is really that good! ?a month agoI never leave reviews, as I prefer word-of-mouth when it comes to the ability of a barber or cook. However, I must make an exception.I have been in Charleston three years, three years without a reliable barbershop. Broad Street Barber Shop has been renewed, resurrected if we want hyperbole. From Where-Else-Am-I-To-Go to my unquestioned First Choice it has now become.
Ask for Trevis–but don’t ask for Trevis, lest I need to wait longer to get my haircut.
3 months agoI was down in Charleston the week of May 8th on vacation and didn’t have time to get my haircut before I left NY. So I came here on a whim and Elena cut my hair. SHE DID AN AMAZING JOB !!! My hair cut was perfect. Received many compliments when I got back home. Thank You Elena !! There’s only one small dilemma…your in SC. I guess it’s only a 90 minute flight from NYC…..lol. Thanks again!! You did an outstanding job with my hair.5 months agoI visited the barber shop while visiting from out of town. Elena was absolutely wonderful. She set a new standard for how my hair should look! We will be visiting Charleston more often, and I plan on making a stop here part of those visits. Thanks again!

3 weeks agoI’ve been here before and had an amazing haircut from barber named Britney. I got hair cut from someone new and she was vey nice and polite, but she butchered my haircut. The place looks cool with the fact they have beer and don’t have kids but the girls they hire honestly can only cut woman hair and are trying to cut men’s hair. Fades or blending hair is off the table. The back of my haircut is so messed up that I had try and find Britney on Facebook and google so I can get into contact with her to fix it. I got my favorite barber back and won’t be going back to this place.a month agoGood vibes and excellent service! After years at my old barber, I was looking for a change and The Local Shoppe hit all the marks. I booked an online appointment with Kelsey and she was able to correct an uneven cut that I was struggling with, and gave me the fade I had been looking for. Her attention to detail was outstanding, and you can tell she takes a lot of pride in her work.The lounge area is really comfortable and the included drinks are a nice touch to make you feel relaxed and welcome.
Overall a very chill vibe which fits James Island perfectly! I’ll definitely be returning soon.
Keep in mind, cash is the preferred method of payment and there’s an ATM ($3.50 fee) right inside if you don’t have any on hand.
8 months agoI recently visited The Local Shoppe barber shop in Charleston, SC and I could not be more pleased with the service. The barbers were very friendly and professional, and the atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. I had a great cut and style – the barber was very knowledgeable and took her time to make sure I was happy with the end result. I would highly recommend The Local Shoppe to anyone looking for a great barber shop experience. 5 stars!9 months agoWow! A clean, vibrant, new barber shop in James Island. The shop has a cozy waiting room with plenty of complimentary beverages. I made an online appointment with Kelsey. Kelsey was friendly and laser focused, fixing a botched cut I received at another place. I would definitely be back and try the Local Shoppe!a month agoAble to get appt same day and convenient time. 74 yr old disabled client. He received excellent haircut..Barber’s name unknown, but took much time listening and excelled with cut. Lobby nice, attractive.Only suggestions would be to tone down the noise level and pick one media at a time instead of loud music and TV simultaneously.
The Client should be the priority for a totally relaxing, respectful, age appropriate experience as well as an excellent cut.

2 months agoI booked an appointment online with Heidi. The booking process was a breeze! The Cigar Factory where the shop is located is really easy to find. The staff are all welcoming and friendly. Hedi gave me an amazing cut and always carries great conversation. After the appointment, she recommended a good product for my hairstyle. I also enjoyed a cold beer whole I was there. I highly recommend Barrelli Barber.3 months agoI hate taking time out of my day to get my haircut… It’s like a thing for me… But this was my first time at Barrelli’s downtown CHS location and I have never had a better haircut experience. I had Heidi as my stylist and she did an excellent job, was very sweet, and I was in and out in 20 minutes. Complementary whiskey drinks and beer. Love it.Will definitely be a returning client.
