a week agoBest experience with an urgent care office anywhere. I used the easy online appointment scheduler (you don’t need an appointment but it saved time in the waiting room.) I completed all the admitting paperwork online, including loading copies of my insurance card and ID, then waited for a text to tell me when to arrive. Once I was there I was quickly checked in and was called to be seen on time! Clinic staff caring and friendly, asked questions and listened to me and explained everything to be done. If and when I need urgent care again I won’t go anywhere else.2 months agoStaff here is amazing! Felix is great! He’s super attentive and always welcoming to all patients. He makes you feel like family if you come here often. I highly recommend coming to the New Britain AFC for all your urgent care needs.a month agoWalking into urgent care is always a pleasant experience the secretary, Maria she’s very helpful, very attentive and makes everything very easy to understand if you want to go and get medical care or any type of test I recommend AFC urgent care in New Britain. They are very clean, very respectful and efficient.in the last weekThe APRN Nicole marden is amazing! The way she cares for patient it’s exceptional. She made me feel care for and comforted me through what I was going through. And took care of my need when I came in. We need more like her!!! a week agoAll and every employer relying on Concentra is wasting their money on a very inefficient operation that is abusing your potential and current employees.My employer “booked” my priority express appointment, for first thing in the morning online and provided me the confirmation and related documents to present.
That morning on arrival, the front desk folks ignored both my paperwork and me, acting as if it was all a fantasy, stating there was nothing in the system. I had to resubmit all of the information again, on paper and clipboard, in free hand.
Two hours later I was finally called to the examination area, where I was with a technician for 15 minutes. Five minutes for “vitals” and a Pee test, ten minutes on my phone and the Concentra were on theirs trying to reach my employer to provide them the “Medical Code” for the testing authority to report to…. Concentra didn’t know which one it was in their little book of codes.
Another 15 minutes later, sitting alone in an examining room, a ME (Medical Examiner) Doctor knocks on the door, walks in, spends 5 minutes asking me a series of questions I had already twice responded to, once on line, once free hand, thanks me, and wishes me a great day and walks out telling me “Your all set, stop bye the front desk and they’ll give you your card”.
So I go back to the front desk, and they hand me a bunch of paperwork and ask me to sign this, this and that…and then hand me my DOT Medical Card and a bunch of related documents and out the door I go, as they tell me, “your all set!”.
Two or so hours later, I get a phone call asking me if I could come back in to Concentra because they MAY need me to do a lift test.
My other “gig” is I am an Exercise Therapist and Personal Fitness Trainer. They told me they would continue to see if they could work around the test, but they were supposed to have given it to me. 45 minutes later they said I had to come in, as they had no way of going around the requirement. Despite the inconvenience and hassle, I am fortunately only about 12-15 minutes away from the Concentra facility so I went back and of course aced the Lift Test.
This organization is disorganized, slip shod and l would give it a failing score on each and every possible count.
a month agoWent in to get a dot physical, they had me waiting over 45 minutes, until I got up and asked for a refund to go elsewhere. As soon as I asked for a refund they could take me right away. I told them I had somewhere to be and I didn’t want to be rude, so I’d rather come back another day, but they still decided to take me and had me waiting in the back for another 30 minutes. This isn’t my first time getting a DOT physical and I never experience something like this before.5 months agoMy visit to this site was nothing but pleasant, but most importantly, quick. Came in and handed my paper for my drug screening/physical. Filled out what was necessary along with a follow-up up text with other information to fill out. Nothing difficult and not much was needed. There were quite a few people waiting too, but things were running pretty smoothly. I was in and out of there in less than an hour. Those whom assisted me were very kind and caring. I have no complaints. ?2 months agoWait time be too long. I was there at 7:30 to be seen for DOT physical at 8a and several people went before me. Tried to make an appointment but they say they don’t take appointments anymore I would have to walk in and wait 4 hours or come on Monday. Second person there and still over a 2 hour wait. But the staff very nice.2 months agoThe only thing pleasant about my experience was the nurse conducting my pre-employment drug test. She was very nice and and professional. This test took me two days to complete however. The first day I went, my “EPassport” from my employer expired at 3pm that day. I arrived at 2pm, went to the front desk, filled out some paperwork and proceeded to wait. An hour and a half later, I was called up to the desk saying I could not complete my test because I came too late. The woman at the desk explained to me patients may have to wait up to 3 HOURS in order to take there test which is why it’s important to arrive early. I think most people would assume that when you arrive you are checked in. Not here, you’re checked in when they’re ready to see you. So despite waiting around for an hour and a half, I could not take my test and had to call my employer to authorize a new drug test and return the next day so I could spend a nother couple hours waiting at their facility. I wish the woman at the front desk could have warned me that I might not make it within the timeframe. Or better yet, that she actually checked me in when I arrived, not an hour and a half later.

a month agoI will not recommend anyone here as my experience was poor. The MD acknowledged that she seen I wasn’t happy with the decision made. However, I was willing to try it. The next day I tried to pick up the prescription at the pharmacy and it was not sent per CVS. I called to request it to be sent. At the pharmacy I was notified it was an OTC product that has the same active ingredients that I was using for my child already. I asked to speak with a provider but the receptionist declined and asked me why or if I called the PCP. She also said if the provider thought it was serious than they would have done something different. This individual needs to have some training on how to speak to the community that makes contact with them. My concern for daughter is valid and I’m her guardian! My daughter is uncomfortable and in pain and this employee tells me basically its not that serious. I asked her if I can get a call back. She kept deflecting. I asked her if she was a provider. Clearly she wasn’t. Now I see why parents don’t go to urgent care. No compassion and no sense of care. I’m so disgusted by this person’s conduct.a month agoNormally I am very satisfied with this facility however today was one of the worst experiences. I brought my son in with a possible broken arm and was told it was a 2 hour wait because there were appointments. I understand that if he were sick however he was clearly in pain and unable to walk due to the amount pain. The receptionist could see he was bleeding and not doing well. I am extremely upset that this is how emergencies are handled. Do not go there if you have an emergency because you will end up waiting as your child is crying in pain. Go health in Newington took my son in right away and was super sweet and understanding. I will go there from now on.a month agoNot helpful. The doctor verbalized he does not know what’s going on. He also verbalized he does not think this is the right place for an xray or ultrasound. He told me to return to my regular pediatrician in the morning and not to worry… he was the same one who said he didn’t know what’s going on. My visit was from 6:35pm to 6:45pm. Not happy and more concerned than when I went in there.3 months agoGreat doctors and nurses in this place! My son had a deep laceration in his lip and was really scared of stitches. They took great care of him and he felt barely any pain. I also always bring both of my boys there when sick and its always a great service. Thanks PM Pediatrics!!!2 months agoWe brought our two year old daughter here on a Sunday because she had a high fever and had recently been exposed to someone with strep throat. They tried to dismiss our concerns by stating they don’t really see strep in kids her age, and do not test for it in kids under three. Our daughter tested positive for strep earlier this year. They also tried to make us feel silly for bringing her in with just a fever. Don’t waste your time here if you have a kid under three. They also told us they don’t test for covid or the flu in kids that age. Why call yourself a pediatric urgent care if you can’t perform simple pediatric services?I’m sure they’ll just reply with their generic “sorry to hear about your experience response” I see on all of the other low star reviews and move along.
