in the last weekFulfills all of my needs and I am 100 percent disabled. Great specialist help. Moved here from Louisiana and it was 0 percent.5 months agoDrove out to VA hospital in Iowa City to be seen for severe back pain & face pain. Had 1 doctor who was very nice & listened. I also had my chest pain rechecked. HOWEVER, At shift change had someone new, who informed me that my BACK PAIN is BECAUSE I’m OLD!!! REALLY.. Could it possibly be from a kidney infection??? This doctor didn’t check my chart when prescribing medication cause he tried to prescribe me Codeine. (Allergic) I drive to VA to be treated fairly cause local hospitals are worse. But I don’t like to be treated like I’m stupid & just want narcotics ?? since I’m allergic to most of them. Sad!!9 months agoI went to Audiology at the VA in Iowa City the other day. I seen Aaron and got my new hearing aids. I have seen Aaron before and he really helps me out with hearing aids. He is a great guy and always takes care of me. He is always professional and gets stuff done. I have to drive an hour and half to get there, but it is well worth my time. I never have to wait very long in the waiting room, always called in on time.a year agoMy husband recently had a cataract removed at the VA hospital. He received excellent care, and he is healing well. We were treated with great care and respect. The facility is clean and comfortable. The doctors and nurses are fabulous. My husband was given a free meal in the cafeteria, by using his Veteran’s ID card in the kiosk there. There was a nice selection of good food. He has full confidence in them, and looks forward to getting his other eye treated.a year agoWent to the Eye Clinic. This was the first time I have ever been to the VA Clinic. It was very easy to find. I got a meal voucher so it took care of my lunch. I found a place to stay 5 minutes down the road in a B&B. You can get rooms, you just need to check into that. All the doctors and assistants were absolutely amazing. Very friendly. The ones as we came into the hospital are very good and super helpful. Quincy Medical VA is wonderful!

3 weeks agoMy son is a college student at Iowa and was reluctant to go see a Dr. thinking they would just give him antibiotics and send him home. I made an appt and the provider Holly Gingerich took the time to really dig into his symptoms and do imaging which uncovered a large malignant mass. We are so thankful for Holly for saving our sons life.a month agoThis is my favorite clinic to come to when I do have to go to one. It is clean, efficient, and easy to navigate.a year agoOne of the best urgent care experiences I’ve ever had! They had the patients waiting and it was spot on. I got there with my two boys, we checked in, and were seen in 3 minutes! With the extremely burnt out healthcare folks I was not expecting the wait to be so quick. Every single nurse, EMT, PA that we visited with did everything they could. We walked out of there feeling better and having a lot of confidence in knowing we were in the right hands!a year agoProvider was not helpful and barely stepped into the room before talking to me. Sat in the exam room for 2 hours without being told why it was taking so long. Staff at check in were not at their work stations so it appeared no one was there to check patients in. Not a good overall experience.4 years agoWe have had to use Urgent Care on three occasions recently. Using My Chart to make appointments, we had very little wait time and had the best of care from both the nurse and PA who were there. On two of those visits we were lucky enough to have the same providers and cannot adequately thank them for the prompt and skilled care we received.

3 weeks agoVery pleased they where there when I was in need6 years agoDr. Cecilia Norris was very compassionate and gave me the drugs I needed to get over this awful cold. I have no insurance due to a life change. She listened to me, even gave me something to help me get better that nobody has ever tried when I’ve had this kind of illness. A spacer for my inhaler. I’ve declined them for years and explained I can’t work them because of the timing. She also told me that if I wasn’t better in a couple days to just call and she will give me something different to try. I’m allergic to the typical meds given for infections so it’s hard to find something that will work. This was at no charge to me for any of the medicine or care. My immune system is terrible and compromised around two times a year I get a bad cold. I have been in a position where I’ve had the funds to go to a doctor because I had insurance, I could afford it. I’ve been to urgent care paid a co-pay, had my insurance charged and walked out with a “continue trying the OTC meds you’ve been trying before you arrived here..” if they don’t work, come back in a week (so we can again charge you & your insurance company) and we will see what we can do to help you. The short version is I’ve literally paid for worse service at a paid health clinic that takes insurance…than I received at this wonderful free health clinic that does not accept insurance and takes donations.2 years agoThe people are rude on the phone they over talk you and they won’t listen to what you have to say.
