2 months agoI can’t wait for open enrollment in September as I will be changing insurance. I’ve been with Kaiser since 1986 and in my time of need they completely let me down. One of my top 3 fears in life is suffering and I fear if I stay with Kaiser I will be using this freaky walker unnecessary and prematurely. The only bright spot with Kaiser is John Carlin PA Time to get my advanced directives in order3 years agoMany people believe that Kaiser Permanente is a huge impersonal medical factory where the delivery of individual quality service is impossible. Fortunately , I am happy to report that this negative generalization does not always hold true. On February 20, my father had minor procedure performed by Dr. Guiomar Constanza Iriarte, an otolaryngologist, and her team at the Kaiser Bellflower Medical Facility (new building). She and her team met with my dad before the surgery and addressed our concerns putting us at ease. Everyone was friendly, professional, and reassuring. The building itself was up to date with a comfortable waiting area, guest wifi, a nice cafe, and lots of free parking. He was in and ready to go home surprisingly quickly, and they took the extra step of all signing a “Get Well” card that they gave him with his post op instructions. I was very pleasantly surprised on how smoothly everything went, and I want to thank Dr. Iriarte and her team for a job well done!6 years agoThe facility is being renovated. Although the look is nice the rude disrespectful attitude of some of the sleep apnea office staff and technicians remind me of the horrible Sunset kaiser staff of the 1970s.Restrooms are scarce at least on the fourth floor where there is one coed single use restroom.
There is a cafe prices seem comparable to Starbucks. Facility easily seen from street and plenty of parking. Handicap parking is limited.
Nice dessert water friendly gardens.

The parking has gotten awful lately because of a new building being constructed that’s closed the largest parking lot and part of the smaller one.7 months agoKAISER EXECUTIVES, IMPROVE CARE at this facility!Bring back the pediatric urgent car. It is sorely needed post-Covid. Please reopen it. Urgent care in Downey is now refusing my 6 year old son because of limited capacity hours before the signs says they close. Where are we to go? Your decision to close the pediatric facility is increasing wait times at Downey Urgent care is negatively impacting the overall quality of care in this area.

With a four-year-old, we’ve (unfortunately) had to visit probably 7+ times in the last year, but every time, they get us in and out SO fast and everyone is so friendly, professional and respectful. 3 weeks agoBrought my wife here. She fell at the grocery store and hit her head. Five stitches later at this urgent care, we were both impressed. Great staff provided excellent care and front office staff great, too.3 weeks agoThere was one person ahead of me when I arrived. Check in and the initial vitals assessment went fairly quickly. However the wait to see a doctor once in the room was about an hour. The doctor did not really seem very knowledgeable about my condition and stated “I don’t know, that’s weird,” several times. She examined my hand for perhaps 40 seconds at most. She also did not address the secondary concern which is an implication that she did not review my chart.She assumed that I was concerned about the suggested X-ray because I might be a non- paying patient and concerned about the cost. However, I informed her that this was not the case, I’d recently been given an x-ray for the current issue. The visit seemed very rushed and
I do not believe I received exceptional care.

I appreciate the referral to a specialist in the end. Besides prescribing meds there was no guidance regarding self-care. Per the 3 stars, the care was average, when I consider my previous visit to another urgent care facility 5 months earlier.
a week agoWent to Continueum for a ct scan prescribed by my Dr mandatory to have an office visit tests and exam threw my dr under the bus dr. Stated I’m a er dr you don’t need the radiation an ultrasound is all you need. They do not have their own ct or X-ray machine they send you to wave imaging next door. What a nightmare. My Dr did not receive the results as continuem apparently did not send them as requested.a month agoRecently I had an emergency that necessitated a visit to urgent care. My pain was unbearable and the need was dire, which meant little time to rely on my own doctor or to deliberate on which facilities in my area I could run to. I had seen this facility a number of times, but never had a reason to visit. Left with few options, I opted to head there around 9 in the morning.Overall, the experience was everything you could hope for when you’re in a situation like mine. The wait was brief: no more than 15 or 20 minutes, when in the past I’ve waited closer to an hour just to be seen. On top of that, it was impeccably clean, from the waiting room to the patient room to even the restrooms, which informed me of how well-maintained the building is and how that same sort of care might reflect in the treatment of their patients.
Every person that attended to me handled my situation with care and compassion. I felt safe, comfortable, and confident that I was in good hands. There was not a person I spoke to or interacted with that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Specifically, I have to give kudos to Nurse Practitioner Courtney Rompel, Nurse Domingo Sarmiento, and Dr. Bobby Massoudian. NP Rompel was exceedingly friendly and professional, while Nurse Sarmiento was helpful, empathetic, and kind. Both eased the stress of the situation and brought a smile to my face when I was in the midst of suffering. Dr. Massoudian was knowledgeable and attentive, explaining my medical issue clearly and comprehensibly. You can really see the passion in their work and their desire to help people.
I fully intend to make this facility my number one location for all my future emergency medical needs, and I strongly implore anyone who desires a welcoming, professional environment for their own medical needs to please visit here as well.
