Had a sinus infection that got much worse overnight so I took a trip to this Urgent Care. I’ve had my fair share of Urgent Care/ER/hospital/etc. visits throughout my life as I tend to be fairly illness-prone and this was easily one of the better ones. Despite their name, Urgent Cares are often painstakingly slow, but I was in and out of this clinic in less than an hour. The receptionist was efficient and both the nurse (whose name I unfortunately forgot) and provider (Jennifer L. Martinelli) were very friendly and made me feel comfortable and like my concerns were genuinely being listened to. I left with an antibiotic Rx and that positive feeling you get when you’re sick but know you’ve been taken care of. If I have any other Urgent Care-related issues in the future I’ll definitely be returning here!

After waiting for 2 hours, my roommate and I were called in at around the same time and we both had the same symptoms. My nurse came in and said I should be fine because I’m a healthy 20 year old. Thank god my roommate got a swab test because later we found out he had Covid!!!! If he wouldn’t have gotten that test I would have went home for the holidays and exposed my entire family.

I came here because my primary doctor couldn’t get me in today and i’m newly pregnant with symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy. I walked in around 9:15am, saw a nurse who sent me to Radiology. Spent about 45 minutes there, then was sent back to urgent care. Spent almost 2 hours in an exam room, then was sent to Lab. Sent back to urgent care to an exam room where I am currently sitting and it is now 2:45pm. Absolutely ridiculous to take this long for an ultrasound and for a doctor to take a look at my scans to just simply let me know if my body and my fetus are in danger. Will be walking out if not seen in the next 15 minutes (after spending just under 6 hours here) and will not be coming back to urgent care here.

Went in today for a migraine. My Dr. Refered that I head into urgent care if I experienced any certain symptoms along with my migraine. So, while having those symptoms I went in. Feeling super sick, I held my own and toughed it out the best I could. While The Nurse Practitioner who treated me was extremely rude. Saying: “So, what were you assuming we could even do for you today? There is nothing we can do for you.” All while my mom is sitting right there with me. I’m sure they may get a lot of “drug seeking” Patients in. And I’m sure they resort to assuming. They shouldn’t. It’s extremely unprofessional and rude. You should treat every patient with care.

I too don’t know what Anonymous is talking about. Urgent Care isn’t the ER, it is to see a doctor on a first come first serve basis if you happen to have an issue and your primary doctor’s office is closed. Even in the ER they triage people through according to their issue and you might have to wait in there. I have been in EHDC 3rd St. Urgent Care/Walk-in care many times and have had very good care. I did go to the Hermantown St. Lukes Urgent Care and had to wait 2 hours….but, that’s just the way it is. They don’t give care like a drive through eating place….if you were in such a hurry Anonymous, you maybe should have called an ambulance, they generally get in ER right away. We just have to wait your turn. That’s also why they have triage nurses. They triage your issue and if you are not hurt or sick badly..you might just have to wait to be seen because someone else might be sicker or in worse shape than you.

Waiting time was negligible. Jennifer, PA was excellent. Thorough, asked questions, and listened. The whole experience was gratifying.

Dr. Robinson seen my three month old daughter for a cough she’s had for three weeks, and was very dismissive and rude. When listening to her lungs he pinched her nose so aggressively, out of nowhere with no warning or explanation to me, she started to turn blue before eventually opening her mouth. She was screaming and flailing to get away and almost wriggled off the table. Then when looking at her throat he shoved the tongue depressor way further back then it needed to go and when she started to gag, he pushed harder. I’ve never in my life seen such a rude, aggressive or cruel doctor. We will never go back.

If I could give Dr. Elizabeth Gibbons zero stars, I would! I’ve always been a proponent of St. Luke’s over the other big player in town, but sadly, when I started caring for my mother who has dementia/Alzheimer’s, I wanted to bring my mom to Gibbons because I viewed her as a good doctor at the time and boy was I mistaken (she was my doc too). Quickly, I learned that Gibbons was treating my mother cookie cutter for her disease and not listening to family or even being remotely compassionate. She would behave as if she took our concerns into her decisions yet decided to take my mother off of a med she needed at night due to her extreme anxiety without consulting family first. We tried to fill it and that was how we found out!! For the first week of Moms move into assisted living, she couldn’t sleep. I called Denfeld Med several times to discuss the issue with the doc only to have a return call from a no-name assistant that didn’t know anything other than to relay the message over and over that the Rx wouldn’t be filled. Where’s the compassion for my Mom and her situation? Where’s the professional understanding and concern for the families wishes? Not here and not with this doctor. Heed my warning.. think twice if you want to be involved with your own care and to be a part in your own decisions or that of someone you love. She is a dictator and a garbage-individual.

Urgent Care at this location is apparently no longer offered. My wife brought her mother there today for an urgent medical need, and the receptionist informed them Essentia Hermantown Urgent Care has been closed for a few weeks now. It would be helpful if you took down your Urgent Care signage in Hermantown, and updated your online content to appropriately reflect services offered at this location.

I’m so happy the Hermantown clinic has opened the Urgent Care. It is so much closer than having to go down town and our only option was St. Lukes Urgent Care, which was fine, but not connected the Essentia so it wasn’t all that easy for example, having to be transferred to St. Mary’s ER or hospital. The doctor’s, nurses, clinical assistants and employee’s at Hermantown has always been good to their patients. Yes, there may have been times someone has had a bad day and weren’t smiling but all in all.. It is a blessing to have.

I prefer the service where they care about the patients as opposed to the money they make from patients. My primary doctor I see here is very good but I will never have any procedure done ever again. So five stars for Jay Ferguson and 1 for essentia as a whole.

The wait is never too long and the docs are very compassionate. Plus you don’t have to pay for parking like downtown.
