  The care that I received at Topeka ER &Hospital was exceptional!! I have only lived in Topeka for just over a year, and I have to say that this is the BEST hospital that I have ever been to. The doctors and staff really care. The care and compassion that I received was more than I could have expected. I was recovering from Covid, and was dealing with a horrible cough due to inflammation in my lungs, my blood pressure and heart rate were high, and they did everything to help me. I stayed overnight for observation, and they catered to me and my friend who drove me there as though we were family. My friend ended up staying overnight with me, and they made accommodations for her to be there with me, and she was comfortable. This is my hospital of choice!! I recommend it to anyone if they need care. The hospital is clean. The staff is caring and professional. The doctors are phenomenal and so is the staff!!!

  I absolutely despise going to hospitals but I have to say the nurses and the doctor I encountered at Topeka ER were the most caring and compassionate medical staff I have ever met! They were extremely attentive, supportive, and made me feel like I mattered. They were nonjudgmental and not once made me feel bad about entering their ER like other hospitals have. It’s scary enough to be a patient who is vulnerable and in pain therefore, knowing there are medical staff who go to lengths to make you comfortable and truly care about your wellbeing, changes the way we care for ourselves. This place sets a great example of what the medical field was intended to be. I for one want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. You all are the best of the best♥️

  I went in with severe abdominal pain and was treated quickly and efficiently by the wonderful staff at Topeka ER & Hospital. Jazmin and Tricia were so great at ensuring my comfort and provided stellar care during my stay. Rachel, Audrey, and Nick made sure I understood all the tests and procedures being completed and put me at ease with their great demeanor. Dr Schreiner and Dr Gustin explained things to me in a way that was easily understandable and provided ample time for any of my questions. My overnight stay was comfortable and everyone was so accommodating. I never had to wait more than 1 minute after pressing the call light. If you’re looking for quick, attentive, and thorough care for any emergent need, THIS is the place to go. They have everything the big hospitals in town have, but with an intimate small town feel. Topeka ER & Hospital will always be my first choice for any of my future emergency medical needs.

  As most people do, I dread going to the ER but going to Topeka ER and Hospital was the best decision I could have made. The wait to get into a room was literally 0 minutes. By the time my wife had handed over ID and insurance, I was getting wheeled back. They were running labs and beginning treatment for excessive dehydration within minutes. The entire staff, throughout my 2 day stay was phenomenal! I didn’t know this till later but my first doctor is actually one of the owners. The staff was very professional, kind, empathetic and friendly. They were definitely on top of their game. If I needed something and pushed the button, I’d have someone in my private room, immediately. This was the best possible care I could ever hope for!

  I’ve read several reviews of this place, some bad, most are good. My experience has always been alright. Some of the staff may seem a bit “stand off’ish” but not every person is an extrovert. With that in mind, the staff is very professional, they know their job and they’re good at it. It may not be the fastest clinic, so if you want treated ASAP, just go to the ER or schedule an appointment with your own doctor. They are thorough, they ask lots of questions, and yes, they care about your health. I can highly recommend this place for treatment, but be a patient patient. They’re humans, not robots. I give them a thumbs up.

  East to schedule the appointment online, went in to be seen without a wait. Everyone was friendly and the Doc took his time explaining what was going on and made sure to get me the meds I needed to help me get healed up. Would definitely recommend but hope I won’t need to go back any time soon.

  It’s okay. When I got looked at, I was told it was just allergy season so to get Allegra, and if it worsens to come back again. Note my symptoms been going on for over a week. I knew something was not right with me, therefore I went to see another doctor to get a second opinion and they said I had a sinus infection. Honestly wouldn’t go here, unless it’s your last option.

  I hadn’t been there for awhile so the check in procedure was a bit confusing mainly because the person at the reception desk for urgent care never greeted me or ask if she could help me. There was a electronic device over to the side with a sign on it that was confusing and when I put in my information it wouldn’t let me proceed. It wasn’t clear whether I should check in at the main check in area for urgent care. The NP was very good. Everything else felt kind of like people didn’t know what they were doing.

  Wish I had known I should check in online. 2 hour wait. I understand they were busy. Just needed a nurse to pull 3 stitches. ? otherwise, super friendly receptionist and nurses.

  Our cat ingested toxic plant material, so we brought her here. The vet techs we spoke with while were both extremely empathetic, kind, and also had a sense of humor that helped calm us.

  *Edited portion: you must call in only – cannot just walk in. They explained the reasoning to us (it seems to be a valid reason). Overall I don’t think this decreased quality of care or increased the time it took to see doc. It was expedient.

  The veterinarian laid out a concise plan of care for our Kitty girl that was easy to understand. She gave reasons for each step, a timeline, I felt like she answered almost all of our questions before we could even think to ask.

  They did charge an extra $250 to us that basically ensures if there’s anything they need to do overnight for our cat they don’t have to call us. Any of that not used will be refunded. This is very thoughtful.

  They also provided a complete list of veterinarians for us since we are new to Topeka.

  Overall I feel confident that our cat is in good hands, that the team takes us seriously, and they know what they are doing.

  **Update: we were provided a photo and status update of our cat via text message at ~1130 pm which was very nice to see in the morning. When I went to pick her up between 6-630 am she had an IV secured with a wrap, I was provided an update with paperwork, and the extra money I was charged in case of any overnight needs was refunded as they had not used it all.

  Bottom line: our fur-babt received great care and we were informed the entire time. If you are looking for somewhere to take your animal for an emergency, I recommend this place.

  I do not recommend taking your pet here if you don’t have to… I took my dog here to have a fish hook removed from his lip. This vet is curbside only so you cannot go in with your pet. My dog is a very nervous breed and doesn’t do well at the vet. I let the staff know about this. First of all, he was brought out twice for me to muzzle him. That annoyed me. The hook removal was done. I asked if everything went ok and if my pup did ok. They assured me everything went fine. 2 hours later my dog had this bloody bulge looking swelling coming from his eye… I called the vet and they asked me to send a picture so I did. 5+ hours of no call back my husband finally called the vet again… then they tell him that our pet may have been violently shaking his head back and forth because he wasn’t happy to be there and may have hit himself and what was going on was bruising. And that the antibiotics they sent with us should help it. They tried to hide the fact my dog was injured in their care and had he not developed two black eyes I would have known nothing about it! I will never take my pet here again!

  We had an emergency with our older dog, Charlie, that passed away while visiting our family in Topeka. The Emergency Animal Clinic of Topeka’s staff did an amazing job assisting my husband and I through the process. Makayla and another staff member consoled and assisted us in getting him scheduled for cremation. In addition to getting his remains mailed to our home in Colorado, their entire staff were attentive and offered great service when providing updates on his status before he returned home. They even sent us a condolence card with encouraging words and ink prints of his paws. Thank you for everything you did for our family, it truly made a difference during this difficult time. We highly recommend the Emergency Animal Clinic and will return if we are in the area and need care.

  This is a terrible place to take your pet. You are not allowed in with them or to even see them once inside. In a very short time I was told my dog was in terrible shape and they would someone out with paperwork to sign. It was a 1,500.00 bill I had to pay up front or they would not treat my dog. They told me he was way worse off then he was. Put a catheter in him they never used for anything and my vet had to take it out. Insisted he need to be hospitalized. I was called at midnight for a DNR on him. Through blinding tears I asked again to see him and was refused. The next morning when I got him back he was way better then they led me to believe. My own vet saw him an hour and half later. She remove the catheter and gave Jake a new med and sent me home with me. Weeks later he is still doing really well. I did ask for a partial refund of my money for their misleading diagnosis over the phone and the overnight care I would not have ok’d if I could have seen him. I spoke to the CEO today April 5th, he laughed at me pretty much and stated he would give me nothing back they did nothing wrong. Funny another vet a short time after being in their care had a very different outlook on my dog’s condition and he has not spent a day in the hospital. There is way more to this story but will not fit in this box. I will never visit this place again.

  The staff at this emergency animal clinic is truly amazing. They all care so much about your animal and they did everything they possibly could to save my dying dog. I will never forget the tremendous care they took of Tech and cannot thank them enough for saving my boy. The staff will always hold a special place in my heart. Highly recommend them!
