3 weeks agoOne star, only because they made me feel like I was getting my cut next. But then they let someone take my spot. That someone was white and I am dark brown. I got up and left. That man had an appt with another barber. He can wait for his preferred barber that he chose. I hate that they still do this. Looked liked the owners call and he nvm. But yeah never getting my cut there again ever…3 months agoThe people make this place what it is! Their online check-in has been a great addition, even for regulars like me. Several of the barbers live in the same town as be, so the sense of community and recognition seeing them out and about keeps me coming back and recommending others to go here too.5 months agoI go get my haircut about every 8 weeks. Joining the online queue is super easy and convenient, you can pick the first available barber to get in faster or if you want a specific barber you might have to wait a little longer. Rachel cuts my hair and she always does a good job.2 months agoThe staff is Great. And they work well with kids. My son had his first haircut there and he enjoyed it.6 months agoAmazing shop! Amazing staff! I needed an emergency haircut for an interview and Stacy was awesome. She shaped me up just the way I needed without cutting my hair before. Great classic downtown barber shop experience you see in old movies. The decor is a must see for any Jayhawks fan! I will definitely be coming back!

If possible, make an appointment to ensure that you can get a great haircut.
4 months agoHad a lovely experience, I learned while at the shop that they hardly accept any walk-ins only if they are free. And I think I was lucky enough today to be accepted for a cut without an appointment. Anyways, I had a lovely hair cut by a sweet lady, I totally forgot to ask her name, but she was the only lady in there so could be found easily. Very welcoming and soft spoken. I had an issue with my prior hair cut at some other place, I explained her the situation and she managed very well to give me a cut as I wanted. Strongly recommended place. Though I had an issue to find a parking space at the Mass street but exactly at the back of the store, there is a large 2hr free parking spot. Highly suggested to use that spot.2 months agoI see leah ones a week for my weekly schedule cut! She is the best at braiding hair! She’s kind and friendly! I’ve never seen a bad hair cut leave her chair!!6 months agoI got my haircut by Leah. She’s awesome. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted and also explained to me how my hair would look like when the guy’s hair in the picture that I showed her has a different hair type than mine and how my curly hair type will show and what we could do to get it similar to what I want and she did it! I recognized my hair wasn’t going to be exactly like the picture and she was able to get it pretty damn close!Thank you, Leah!
We also had great conversation while cutting my hair. She also recommend awesome hair products to properly treat my hair.
To avoid confusion, Leah is in the regular “Amyx Barber Shop” which is to the immediate right of “Amyx North”. Both shops are right next to each other.
6 months agoMy second haircut here I got with Victoria and it was less than ideal, she cut the top of my hair fine but the arches behind my ears were way too big and not even on both sides. I’ve gone before with a different guy and it was really good though so I think it just depends on the person.

in the last weekWent in yesterday for the first and last time after growing my hair out for three months. I showed her a picture of a bulky mid fade and all she made out it was that it was a “skin fade”. Gave me a completely different and an uneven mid-low mix fade. Did not even bother asking to see the picture again for a second time during the process and trimmed all if it down to a basic short hair undercut.a month agoWent in to get a big chop. The stylus was not listening to me at all. Not sure what her name was middle age lady with grayish blonde hair. Was trying to give her pictures and explain to her what I wanted. She was not willing to work or listen to what I was saying. We’ll never be coming back to this store.2 months agoWe love Megan at the Great Clips at Louisiana Purchase. She is one of my favorite stylists! I don’t go anywhere else.5 months agoStylist did great and was nice. I’ve always been treated well here. How hard is it to shave a head though. They raised prices on haircuts to $19. Probably not much different than Sport Clips and maybe even cheaper. I am probably only going here from now on if I have a coupon or I’m in a bind.4 months agoFriendly and professional. Fantastic hairstylist who does a wonderful job. My #1 place to go without having to wait for a long period of time.
