in the last weekI have generally had great experiences here, my friends have as well, including my dad. The place is clean, and the people who work there are very knowledgeable. As context, I had been growing out my hair for quite a while, starting from extremely short hair to go for a longer style wolf cut. At a previous appointment, Clarissa had done an amazing job giving me tips and teaching me how to care for my specific hair type, and had told me to come back in a few months to let my hair grow out after she had cut the bulk out of my hair. I left satisfied and waited. I had grown it out more, and fast forward to my next appointment, where Clarissa was not the person cutting my hair, my bangs were cut way too short, and will appear even shorter when it dries as my hair is wavy/curly. As my hair was being cut, I also was simultaneously talking about my horrible experience at another place where they did not understand how my hair will spring upward when it’s dry, so they had cut my bangs extremely short. It was a repeat experience here, where my hair had previously almost reached my chin, to now only reaching above the tip of my nose when stretched out. Additionally, I middle part my hair and after this haircut, one side is thinner and slightly shorter than the other. I admit my faults and understand I could have shown a picture, or described the style a bit better, as well as knowing my hair type can be a bit difficult to deal with, but still, I feel disheartened having to grow my hair out again. Even after all that however, I would not consider this place a bad one, quite the contrary in fact. My advice is, if you have wavy or curly hair, have Clarissa cut and style your hair. Out of all the times I have been there, she is the one who I felt really understood my hair type and was extremely knowledgeable as well as understanding.6 months agoExtremely upset. Do not bother going here if you’re actually looking for any particular hairstyle.Last week, I had some dyed hair and wanted it cut out, so I was okay with it being a bit on the shorter side. However, I requested layering to decrease the volume since I have very thick hair and this is the “layers” I received. I had Ashley and she used the regular shears the entire time, never once using the thinning shears. It didn’t look as bad in the salon since it was just blow dried but after a day, the terrible cutting became very evident. In addition to the unevenness, it did absolutely nothing to help with the volume. I had mushroom hair for a couple days where everyone asked if I had cut it myself. I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed. After getting it fixed, my hair is now way shorter than I would’ve preferred and not a style I particularly like.
During my appointment as well, the only other clients who came through were men, looking for just a trim with clippers, which should’ve been a sign in the first place.
I sent an email to them afterwards regarding this and was completely ignored. This place is a complete waste of money and I regret tipping at all.
4 weeks agoDani did a great job making me feel safe in the space and getting a new haircut as I haven’t gotten my hair cut by anyone else in years. It turned out great and I’m excited about my new short hair! Also Dani is so cool ? We had a great conversation I will be back ❤️4 months agoThe best haircut I’ve had in years! I have extremely long hair, yet Ashley was able to get me out of there quick, easy, and clean! Ashley has also taken care of my mother’s roots and dyes. Mama has nothing but positive things to say. 10 out of 10, and if you can, request Ashley!3 weeks agoLoved this place! I have curly hair and am never satisfied with any salon. Ashley did an amazing job, and I will definitely be going back.

2 months agoThis is my very first time coming to sports clips my normal haircut person is on vacation and I was in need of a dire haircut so I had to find someone.I did a google maps search and I checked out all of the places online. This one stood out because they are located in a nice shopping center that I frequent often, so I dug deep into the reviews.
I deduced that Ruby by far has the most reviews and all positive so I got on the waiting list online for her…2.5 hour wait but no big deal because it’s 5 min from my house.
I arrived, the location is clean and everyone was friendly.
The cost for a kids cut, under 10, is $25, regular adult cut $29, and the MVP is $35 which is the haircut plus a shampoo, scalp massage, hot towel on the face, and a shoulder massage…the MVP was a free upgrade on the first visit.
I feel the price was fair and I got a great haircut by Ruby. I would definitely come here again.
3 months agoGood quick service. Go early and you won’t have to wait too long. I’ve been coming this particular sport clips foe years every other month and the hairstylist I get has been always new and different person. Talk about a high attrition rate.4 months agoI have been a customer of Sport Clips for many years now, visiting locations throughout Orange County, Ca. Yesterday I visited the location in the Woodbury Center, Irvine. I was greeted by Lilly who was wearing a large smile so I decided to test her talents on my hair. She gave me what was one of the best cuts I have had in a long time. Lilly is not only professional but she has an extremely positive and upbeat attitude which is addicting to be around. I will for sure be utilizing Lilly’s talents in a month or so when I need a new cut. The entire staff at this location seem to understand what it means to work as a TEAM! A lot of communication and comradery with all of the stylists.a month agoFirst time at this location. Darlene was fantastic. Everyone there was friendly and even during a busy time, no one seemed to be just “working”. Everyone was enjoying their work and had a smile on their face.a month agoDARLENE is amazing! She’s like an auntie. She’s funny, kind, gives tips to have veered healthy hair.Thank you Darlene for being awesome!

5 months agoI have been coming to this location for the last 5+ years. I exclusively see Christina Marie. From the very start she has proven time and again that she treats all her clients with respect and full attentiveness. I am particular about my hair and go in each time wanting something different and each time she takes the time to understand what I am looking for and isn’t afraid to give her guidance or insights from past experiences of similar cuts. You don’t get that from many other stylists. You are not just another body in her chair, even as a newbie. I now live over an hour+ away from this location and still drive to ensure Christina cuts my hair. 10 out of 10, I recommend!6 months agoThere was a haircut stylist named Christina that I wanted to try when I got over to her seat at first she allowed me to show her a picture of how I like my haircut which I liked but after that she just let me stay on the seat without moving a inch she expected me to be with my head lifted up all the time and not move at all she adjusted the seat in which a very uncomfortable way after all I didn’t want to annoy her or comment about it I just let it flow , but last time she was about to tell me to lift my head up she did something else instead she kind of half yelled at me and told me that she doesn’t appreciate my attitude at all where I barely even said something! I tried to come in good terms with a new specialist but she destroyed it and acted like I was not a customer at all, although Queyn was unbelievably polite and kindly let me explain what I wanted to do and everything Queyn made this whole scenario fade away because of how she acted after thata month agoI’ve been going here for years, there are other Sport Clips like it, but this one has my loyalty. Quyen is the best btw9 months agoAfter moving to Irvine, I was in search for a new barber. That’s when I found Tracie!I had always been super picky about my hair. Whenever I would move to a new city, it would take 6-12 months before I found a barber I liked.
I didn’t expect much at Sports Clips until I got Tracie as a stylist. I told Tracie I had requested generic haircuts because I wasn’t sure if anyone knew how to do a fade with the style I preferred. She told me she cut my hair exactly how I wanted.
Wow!!!!! My hair has never looked better! She’s one of the best stylists I’ve ever had. I’ve been going to Tracie specifically over the last year. If she’s not there, I don’t get a haircut.
3 weeks agoThank you maryam for giving me a haircut. It was my first time here. The service was fantastic. 10/10

While the average cost of a men’s haircut hovers around $29, this number can fluctuate based on various considerations like your location, the expertise of the stylist, and the complexity of the haircut you desire. This comprehensive guide aims to break down these variables and offer tips on getting a quality haircut without breaking the bank.
One of the primary factors affecting the cost of a haircut is the location. Whether you live in an urban, suburban, or rural area can significantly impact the price you’ll pay at the salon or barbershop.
Average Cost of Men’s Haircuts by Location
Location | Average Cost Range |
---|---|
Urban areas | $30 – $40 |
Suburban areas | $25 – $35 |
Rural areas | $20 – $25 |
As evident from the table, haircuts in urban areas tend to be the most expensive, with prices potentially going even higher in high-end salons in major cities. In contrast, rural areas offer the most affordable options.
If you’re searching for affordability, chain salons and barbershops are good alternatives. Students can often take advantage of discounts to further minimize costs.
